ON-LINE MANX-PEDIGREES AT PAWPEDS:

Some of you may already know and remember, that we've built up a manx (& cymric) pedigree database on-line for everyone to use at
http://www.pawpeds.com/cgi-bin/MAN

We thought that it would be a good idea to start to gather pedigrees on-line, a piece of manx-history collected in 1 place to be seen.

>From generous doners we've got huge piles af pedigrees, the biggest single database given to us to be added at PawPeds was 4800 cats.
We did get a lllot of "new" cats from those and a lot's of infomation added to cats that already were in the database.
HUGE THANK YOU to you who have already helped !! The total amount of cats there is now around 6500 cats.

Still, it is only a drop from what it could be !!! Help us building it, collecting history to everyone to see and use.
Manx is a such an amazing cat that it really deserves everyone to see that. And there are many !!

Please, go there to see, and "play" : )
For example, write your own cattery name on the box and click search.
It shows you a list of cats in your catteryname. Clicking the individual cat gives you the information we now have there.
Or you can just look any cat you want, just writing the cat's name or a cattery name.
If you find an error from there, please tell us ! Information may be gathered from several places, and mistakes may have occurred even how careful people and we have tried to be.

Unfortunately, the colours are shown in FIFé EMS-code system, which makes it difficult to see quickly what colour the cat really is.
We are hoping to have that changed, that the colour would also be shown in writing.

You can easily see also in-breeding %:s from the pedigrees and make test-matings by adding the cats you want to see there as parents.
That of course is done only if the cats or their parents exist in the database. And they will, as soon as you give us the information : )

More cats there - yes please !!!
Please, collect your own info of your cats and kittens and others too and send us. And in any form.
And if you know someone who's not on-line to be able to see this, please tell and ask them also to help !!

You can scan pedigrees and send them as an email attachment, on in word/pdf/jpg/just writing/whatever.
In PawPeds site it says that no scanned pedigrees, don't mind that. Send the info in away that is easies to you.

I am considering to built up a "missing pedigrees page" in my own site later, where you could easily see what we defenetly need.
Will send you information when the page is ready, will take some time to do that : ) My own page still has "Merry Christmas" - greetings in there, and in a need of a update : D

A lot of "older" cats are missing information, and those are the most difficult to get. Also some vvvvery old cats, which some of they propably are "foundation" cats, meaning they were the first one's where the line is considered to be started. We would like to get them verified as "the first one's", to be able to "close" the pedigree to them.

Every information is valuable, if something is not known, we just put what we have.

This is what we can add :
- Cat's name + titles
- registration number
- gender
- parents (as many generations as possible, or just what you know)
- colour, tail lenght
- date of birth / death

And also the can be added:
- chip / tattoo number
- birth country
- time of death
- source of information (registration book, heard from, memory, etc..)

Tuija Aaltonen (owner of CFA Ch & FIFé European Champion Romanxx Jake Delhomme) is being the maintainer of the database.
I, well I'm just a slave adding cats there and helping with the colours and backgrounds : )

You can send the pedigree info to me to addresses:
email           dmanns@welho.com
or by post    Ina Koli

Thank You - let's do some work !!

Manxy greetings,
